What will you gain from joining the network?
Who is the network for?
The I-PLN is targeted at practising Peer Supporters in the field of mental health and substance use. These are people who use their own personal experiences in these areas to support others on their recovery journey. Managers, Directors, and Leaders in Mental Health and Addiction who do not use their experiences to support others are not precluded from attending the network. Instead, you are encouraged to speak with us directly as to how we can support you best in your participation.
As a member of I-PLN you will:
Join a global network of professional peer supporters
Develop personally and professionally through a co-curated programme of initiatives and activities
Learn fresh ideas and more about global peer support initiatives
Develop your leadership skills and have access to professional development opportunities
Learn what peer leadership can look like
Identify and spread good practice and innovation
Forge lasting relationships
Be part of a global movement that builds collective power for Peer Supporters
I-PLN member Priscilla from Canada tells us why she is part of the network
“[peer support] just can’t be ignored. The recovery model, this peer support model, this trauma informed care model, will not be ignored”
I-PLN member Catherine from the UK tells us why she is a network member
“peer support can feel quite isolating at times… this community gives you a space where you can feel connected to other people…”
